Workshop origata & orisue
Workshop origata & orisue
zaterdag 7 Maart 2026 14:00 - 17:00
During this workshop, we will explore the philosophy behind origata and orisue. In a culture that often values speed and polished results, this practice invites a quieter rhythm. It restores meaning to patience, acceptance, and the time we consciously choose to offer one another. As an exercise, we will create an orisue-inspired keepsake. No prior experience is needed—only curiosity and a willingness to slow down and work with your hands.
Origata and orisue are traditional Japanese paper-folding practices, often regarded as early predecessors of origami. Rooted in the gestures of offering, they transform paper into an expression of care and intention. Each fold is about presence—how something is held, given, and received.
